CSR Initiative: School of Eloquence Partners Lagoon School for Inspired Teachers Masterclass

Nigeria’s foremost institution for public speaking and communication training, the School of Eloquence in collaboration with Lagoon School has announced the completion of the Inspired Teachers Masterclass.

According to the Programmes Director of School of Eloquence, Christine Davies, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative took place at the School of Eloquence headquarters in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, August 26, 27, and 29, 2024, respectively.

The event, attended by 108 educators from Lagoon Primary and Secondary School, Lekki, was designed to empower educators with advanced communication and leadership skills to enhance their teaching effectiveness – and highlighted the School of Eloquenceโ€™s commitment to supporting educational excellence and nurturing teachers who inspire and lead future generations.

The masterclass was led by the Dean of the School of Eloquence, Mr. Ubong Essien – a highly regarded public speaker known as Nigeriaโ€™s Mister Motivator.

Mr. Essien, with his decades of experience in communication and leadership training, provided teachers with valuable insights and practical skills to enhance their performance and impact in the educational sector.

โ€œWe were honored to partner with Lagoon School for this significant initiative. Teachers are the cornerstone of our educational system, and by investing in their growth and development, we were investing in the future of our children and our nation,” Mr. Essien said.

Key highlights of the masterclass are identified as ‘Advanced Communication Skills: Techniques to improve clarity, confidence, and engagement in teaching’; ‘Motivational Strategies: Tools to sustain high levels of student motivation and participation’.

Others are ‘Leadership in Education: Empowerment for teachers to take on leadership roles within their schools and communities’ as well as ‘Personal and Professional Growth: Encouragement of resilience, innovation, and continuous improvement in teaching practices.’

Davies noted that the event built on the existing collaboration between the School of Eloquence and Lagoon School began in March 2024.

“As part of their co-curricular program, the School of Eloquence had been providing public speaking training to students of Lagoon School every Monday, helping them develop essential communication skills from an early age.

“The Inspired Teachers Masterclass underscored the School of Eloquenceโ€™s dedication to impactful CSR efforts that empower both educators and students,” Davies stated.

The School of Eloquence, Nigeria’s premier institution for public speaking and communication training was founded by Ubong Essien, CSP – and it is dedicated to helping individuals achieve excellence in communication through a variety of programs tailored to personal and professional development.

In the same vein, Lagoon School, Lekki, is a prestigious educational institution committed to delivering quality education that balances academic excellence with character development – and aims to nurture well-rounded individuals prepared to succeed and contribute positively to the society.
